apples and Cunkins!

With my sister and Roman in town Sara organized a trip to the Elegant Farmer Orchard out in Mukwonago.  After downing a wake-up serving of Pumpkin Spice latte I was ready for a rousing morning full of apples, cunkins (as Romans says), tractors, nonuts (another Romanism for donuts), apple cider and ponies.  Boy did we have fun!

I love this picture because Amaya is running like a 'big girl.' It is so fun to watch the little guys grow together and funny to think that my family is officially onto the next generation.  I got a little out of hand on the pictures for this blog, but there was so much to choose from!

First we rode  a tractor hay
ride out to the apple orchard
where you can fill your bucket
with as many apples as
you want.  Between  the five of us
we managed to fill an entire
basket. I don't know that
we really wanted all those apples,
but we were just having fun picking them.

Of course daredevil Roman had to climb all the way to the top of the ladder.  He thinks the world is a jungle gym.
Amaya, on the other hand, takes a different approach to being in the tree. She sits in style.Funny things is that their moms kinda did the same thing...............
Anne up in tree - Sara holding basket and posing for the picture.

Once we had more than enough apples, we got back on the hayride to the pumpkin patch.  Amaya was on a mission to find a GREEN pumpkin and Roman found the cutest little pumpkin with a twisty stem. (which to his father's dismay he would later paint pink, purple and white)

The day was cool, clear and sunny, but the wind was killer!  It was pretty bad for about a week around here and made the headlines the other day for all the damage it has caused.

It's Fall!

I don't like that winter will be soon, but along with the change in season comes new and fun things to do.  Somehow the simple transition from one season to the next is still exciting.  I know its getting darker.... and I hate winter, but it's fun to change my wardrobe to a long sleeve flannel or sweater with boots.  The scenery outside my window at work is changing and the Brewers are definitely making this a great October. At this very moment they are winning......

This weekend my sister and Roman are in town and we are headed out    to the orchard with the rest of the babies for apple donuts, hay rides and pumpkin picking.  I think there was a reason there are so many holidays in Fall and I am completely buying into it.  I never thought I would say this, but just maybe winter is worth it with Halloween, November, and Christmas all around the corner.

Amaya has her heart set on being a monkey and Roman is still not decided, but lately has been pretty adamant about Cpt. Hook.  As for me, you will have to wait and see.  (That means I have NO clue).

So my blog is officially ready for fall, colorful leaves and all!

For lack of words

I really really want to blog today, but nothing is coming out that seems worthwhile and I really would hate to steal your time with mindless, meaningless random thoughts.  I think there are so many things on my mind and I have been so busy that I cant decide what i want to share.... a picture tells a thousand words:

The beach pictures are from a September visit to see  Greg at school in Brunswick Georgia.

This is my cousin Jessica and I.  While we saw eachother nearly every year as children it has probably been at least 5 years since we saw eachother.  She lives in Jacksonville so I was lucky enough to see her when I was down there visiting Greg.

A couple weekends ago I finally got to go out to Devil's Lake with Lauren and J.J.  Since I started training for the 1/2 marathon I have barely been climbing, but fall is the best climbing season so hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in a few more outtings before it gets too cold.

The last thing on my mind is BREWERS!  Theres a lot of hype around the city and of course when you work across the street from the Stadium it is even worse!
