This time for Africa

I don't think anything will ever compare to the feeling of warming up before a soccer game. I know that anyone whoever played competitive sports knows the feeling. I will always look fondly on those days.

I am gonna be making the long awaited journey HOME in 1 week exactly. Surreal, mixed emotions. I dont think I have ever felt this homesick in my life. It's time to go home for a bit. Anyways back to work. I must do all the end of semester evaluations. This is taking ALLLLLLL my focus power. (as you can see i am doing a great job)

Things from my childhood.

As a child we always had one of these hanging in my house. Ya know one of those things that is there but you never touch or use and arent really sure if it is a toy or antique, but you never really think about it. Its just another decoration.

Anyways, here they are still in use. And i took an official lesson from an authentic old Spanish man in how to use one the other day.

More pictures from a day at Victor´s Finca.....

(Above is Javi and Victor, the owner of Victor´s Finca. He invited us to his place for lunch a few weekends ago. By the way, Victor is awesome and definately the most active 70 year old I have seen in my life)
Javi and a horse. Jorge and a donkey.
Spain will play another world cup game tomorrow. The town will stand still. If they lose everyone will take the flags off thier balconies. Let´s hope for the best. BUT everyone knows where my heart reeeeally is.... Wednesday. :)

Getting back into the groove

This entry is being written out of guilt. Okay not guilt, but out of duty to my sister who is persistently sending me subliminal messages saying that i need to blog more. The problem is that I dont know what my public wants to hear.

Yesterday I went to work and spoke English. I practiced making the same dang telephone conversations mutiple times with numerous persons. Then I had the same conversation about tipping with various groups. Did you know that TIP stands for ¨To insure promptness.¨ The idea started in coffee houses in Britain a long time ago.

Yesterday Javi´s car was broken into unintentionally. The wonderful gardening department of Madrid shattered out the entire driver´s side window. I tell you, the excitement never ends around here. He is hoping to get it back for the weekend. Rodellar?? Cuenca??

Today Spain will be playing a World Cup Match against another team. The city will probably be at somewhat of a standstill at 4pm. I know they will be playing it on the big screen in the offices where I work. (However i wont be in the offices today)

Where in the World have I been?

Okay. Apart from the breaking of my computer, my blogging has been limited by a trip and some visitors. Sorry to all of you who wanted to be the first to visit me, JJ and Lauren were the firsts.

Here is a schmorgish borg of picts from the trip.... a snapshot of what i´ve been up to.

We went to Siurana in north eastern Spain. A climbing mecca, with some of the best climbing in the world. (At least those are the rumors) Anyways, here´s the gang: We stayed in the house of Edu in a little town called Farena. Farena has about 15 actual residents. One of which is the child in the picture below. This kid was crazy. Here he is riding down the hills of the town on his souped up big-wheel. He was the typical kid that was doing anything and everything to get our attention.... Later he took a huge spill on his little speed machine. Here´s Brujo. One of the Mascots of the trip. He´s a little babe and of course was into everything the whole time.

Since it was a climbing trip, we did climb some.

BLOGGER is being fussy so that´s all i have time for right now. I´ll be back soon though. like tomorrow........
